Flatbed Printing
Flatbed printing refers to the large format printing process whereby the rigid or flexible flat surfaced media or substrate is laid on a flatbed and the ink is delivered directly to the surface of the media. This method of printing, which is also known as Direct to Media printing (DTM printing), is robust and outdoor durable. Flatbed printing is ideal for short-run large format point-of-sale and outdoor display graphics. As W&Co specialises in the production of illuminated displays and signs we utilise flatbed printing for printing direct to opal acrylic sheets for use in our Titan backlit outdoor light boxes or for LED light walls.
Flat surfaced medias and substrates, both rigid and flexible, which can be printed onto directly using the flatbed printing process include: PVC Foamex, aluminium, ACM (aluminium composite material), corrugated board, MDF, wood, polycarbonate, styrene, acrylic, polyboard and card. There are many environmentally friendly recyclable substrates and medias which can be printed on too, please ask for details.
