Project Description

Imperial War Museum

Lighting up the past with museum lightboxes

We supplied the Imperial War Museum lightboxes that were slimline with bright and even LED illumination. This was important for the museum as they were to go on the walls of the Explore History Centre and couldn’t project out too much and needed to attract the attention of visitors. They also wanted it to look as smart as possible and to be able to change the graphics quickly and easily so they chose the Razor LED light box with its high quality snap frame.

The museum was very happy with the illuminated poster displays they received and kindly told us the following, “The Explore History Centre at Imperial War Museum London is a new space open to all members of the public to drop in and discover the Museum’s vast collections of digitised photos, film, sound recordings, art, and more.

The Razor Ultra Slim LED Light Boxes were selected to be installed outside the Explore History Centre by 3D designer Andy Feast because they have good illumination in a simple and elegant frame; the system is easy to use and install; and the overall construction makes them robust and therefore great value for money.

Black and white HP latex prints were also supplied for use in the museum light boxes to ensure the best quality graphics were on show. They were printed onto backlit film and fitted into the museum light boxes. The quality of the old photos was really impressive and the exhibit received lots of positive feedback.
