LED light walls are a new and innovative way to produce illuminated walls in shops or offices, or essentially any large flat surface, using edge-lit LED technology; with, or without, the application of large format graphics. These large format LED light panels are the perfect solution for shop fitters and architects looking to realize large areas of low energy lighting within restricted spaces.

The LED light wall is an ultra thin display lighting system, starting from only 30mm in depth, yet it can be manufactured to any size up to 3 metres x 2 metres in one piece, which can then also butt together to create super size illuminated walls.

LED light walls are illuminated, as standard, using high bright white LEDs, which are fixed to the edge of the clear acrylic panel. The clear acrylic lighting panel has a special pattern of lines etched into the surface to offer help the light distribution. These lines are concealed by an opal acrylic diffuser panel which fits over the top; this opal panel is also used for additional light diffusion which enables the best possible light distribution, and being frameless, it lights up evenly across the whole area from edge-to-edge. The LEDs, the light panels and the diffuser panels are all fitted to an aluminium back tray. The LEDs used in the illumination of the light wall are powered by a low voltage supply giving substantial energy savings in comparison to traditional lighting.

The LED light wall can come with a variety of optional extras including RGB colour changing LEDs, motion sensors, timers and dimmable ballast to enable the user to have full control. One option is to have a DMX controller, a lighting control system which determines when the LEDs come on, off, dim etc; essentially, you could programme the illuminating colours to follow a person around a room. Also the structure of the LED light wall can be modified to suit specific requirements, for example, a toughened glass or polycarbonate fascia can be added or additional seals can be added in order for it to be used outdoors.

If illuminated display graphics are required they can be supplied using various printing methods including: applied self-adhesive vinyl (printed or cut); directly printed onto the acrylic opal diffuser panel; or as a large format backlit print or Duratrans - having a backlit print or Duratrans requires the addition of an additional clear front cover to the LED light wall.

LED light walls offer adaptable lighting solutions for illuminating large format graphics, ambient lighting or for general large format lighting applications.
