Light box graphics can be printed in a number of different ways depending on the type of light box, the application and the quality required. Standard backlit and edge lit light boxes usually have either high quality inkjet prints, which are printed onto backlit film, or Lambda Duratrans, which are processed photographically onto Kodak photographic film.

An option, for some backlit light boxes, is to print the graphic ‘direct to media,’ normally the opal acrylic, which cuts out the need for a printing onto a film or a transparency; this is more common in outdoor backlit light boxes. Another method of printing for outdoor backlit light boxes is printing onto backlit PVC banner material, this type of printing is only used in conjunction with large format, flex face light boxes commonly used for illuminated signs and advertising.

An attractive alternative for printing graphics for large format backlit light boxes is to print onto backlit fabric material. This method is generally only for fabric face light boxes which are often produced for large illuminated retail displays; the fabric graphics come with silicon edges which offer a very simple way to change the graphics.

As well as printing, light box graphics can be produced using self-adhesive cut vinyl; this is mainly used for outdoor light boxes with simple lettering or designs.

The graphics can be designed by W&Co or printed directly from a print ready digital file. Any graphics printed by W&Co can be fitted into the light box free of charge.
