Swatch
Time for Illumination
|
An entirely bespoke illuminated display was constructed around a column at the Swatch concession at London's Gatwick Airport. The curved light box was situated towards the top of the column and measured nearly 2 metres high by a circumference of nearly 3 metres. The unit was manufactured in two parts and constructed onsite. The light box was made with easy to change front covers to enable the store staff to change monthly promotions. The illuminated column was an integral part of Swatch's new site at Gatwick giving the brand a much stronger visual identity leading to higher potential sales.
August saw an order for a large Flex Face light box from popular watch makers, Swatch. W&Co were asked to supply and fit the 4 metre by 2 metre light box at the Swatch counter in Selfridges, Birmingham.
The Flex Face light box was to be installed as the backing to a watch cabinet display, free standing on the shop floor. Due to the large size required, it was decided that a flexi face light box would be the best option for its durability and tamper resistance.
As well as the light box, W&Co were asked to install the display case. This was a pre-built unit, supplied flat packed ready to install. The light box was made to be transported in 3 large sections and was assembled on site. The flex face skin was then tensioned across the light box.
The response from Swatch was positive and they were very happy with the finished display. Subsequently, Swatch have placed orders for several Katana ultra slim light boxes and poster frames for stores around the UK.
