Illuminated Signage helps Skysmart's new premises take off
A brand new custom illuminated sign was produced for the front of Skysmart's new commercial building situated in Great Dunmow, Essex. The highest quality signage was essential to reflect Skysmart's mission statement of high quality precision in the products produced by the aviation component manufacturer.
From the client's initial brief of their signage requirements 3D visuals of the sign on the new building were produced by W&Co's in-house graphic visualisation team to assist the client to picture what the illuminated sign was going to look like prior to fabrication.
Following approval a new 3800mm long x 800mm high sign tray with stencil cut logo details and text was manufactured by W&Co. The sign tray was powder coated grey and was made at 100mm deep enabling the high quality LED modules inside to illuminate the logo and text. The sign lettering was 10mm opal acrylic pushed through the face of the stencil cut sign tray enabling the light to travel through the opal to give a 'halo' glow.
The most visual part of the sign was the client's aircraft logo which alongside the lettering needed to stand out on the industrial estate when lit during the night and non-illuminated during the day. The client looked at various translucent colour samples of vinyl from the Metmark sign range which was then applied to the face of the lettering and logo. To give a strong contrast of colour the 'Aviation Component Support' strap line was faced in black where only the sides illuminate.
The client was very impressed with the quality of the signage, the speed of production and the customer service they received throughout the process.
