W&Co signage flying high at Stansted Airport
Business magnate, Mohamed Al-Fayed, is the proud owner of a brand new £12m luxury private jet centre at Stansted Airport, in Essex, and W&Co were privileged to be awarded the contract for supplying and installing the huge "fayair" illuminated built up letters to both sides of the high-spec hangar complex built by LPL Construction
W&Co worked closely with the LPL Construction team over 4 days to overcome the difficult task of lifting the giant 4m high individual letters into place using a 53m lifting platform – the 6 letters on either side of the complex span a massive 15m, the biggest illuminated built-up letters that W&Co have ever supplied. The letters were manufactured from RAL 'Sky Blue' powder coated aluminium and halo illuminated with high quality LEDs. Oversized flat cut letters were installed behind each of the letters and finished to match the colour of the external hangar cladding to act as a reflector plate and to ensure even halo illumination.
Mr Al Fayed visited throughout the project and personally told the site team that he was very impressed with the high quality of all the work undertaken.
