Big flex face signs get PAV moving at London Gateway

We recently installed illuminated flex face signs for PAV Haulage at DP World London Gateway Port, delivering large-format signage designed for maximum visibility across a busy logistics and industrial site.

Flex face signage is ideal for large-scale applications where visibility from a distance is essential, making it a popular choice for logistics, industrial and commercial environments.

W&Co supplied and installed two large illuminated flex face signs, each measuring 7 metres wide by 2 metres high, delivering maximum impact across both key elevations of the building.

The Requirement – High-Level Signage on a Large Warehouse

PAV Haulage required signage that would:

  • Clearly identify their building from a distance
  • Reflect their brand with strong contrast and illumination
  • Work effectively in both daylight and night-time conditions
  • Be suitable for a large-scale industrial warehouse environment

There was also the added complexity of working with landlord approvals (DP World) and providing detailed drawings and specifications for sign-off prior to installation.

The Solution – Two 7m x 2m Illuminated Flex Face Signs

We recommended illuminated signage in the form of internally lit flex face lightboxes – ideal for large-format applications where visibility and even illumination are critical.

Each sign was manufactured to:

  • Size: 7000mm (W) × 2000mm (H) × 196mm (D)
  • Frame: Aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005)
  • Face: Digitally printed translucent PVC flex face
  • Lighting: 6500K Sloan LED modules
  • Finish: Black blockout background with illuminated white and orange logo

The flex face system provides a seamless appearance at this scale, with consistent illumination across the full graphic.

Installation at Height Using Specialist Access Equipment

Due to the scale and mounting height of the signage:

  • Signs were supplied in sections for safe handling and installation
  • Installed at approximately 16.3m to underside
  • Mechanically fixed into existing steelwork behind the cladding
  • Installed using specialist access equipment

Our team coordinated installation logistics, access equipment, and site requirements to ensure a smooth and efficient install.

The Result – High-Impact Illuminated Branding

The finished result delivers exactly what PAV Haulage needed – high-impact, professional signage that stands out across the site, both day and night.

The illuminated elements contrast sharply against the black background, ensuring excellent visibility without glare or washout.
