UCL (University College London)

Illuminated feature walls making UCL brighter

Colour changing LED illuminated feature walls were supplied and fitted in the entrance lobby of UCL's Christopher Ingold Building creating a contemporary and stylish architectural lighting feature for one of the UK's most prestigious universities.

The LED light walls were part of £300k refurbishment to the university's reception area to modernise and brighten up the building which is home to their world leading chemistry department.

Each illuminated feature wall was a total size of 2.5m high x 3.6m wide and was fitted into a pre-constructed recess. The toughened glass panels were laminated with a diffuser to the rear and were then neatly butted up together in line with the ultra bright LED light panels to create an even high brightness across the whole face of the feature wall.

RGB colour changing LEDs were used to illuminate the feature wall and the changing of the colours was managed by an AM2 controller which was set to fade in and out of the full range of colours that RGB LEDs are able to offer.
