Whistles Stores

Tension Fabric Lightboxes are Height of Fashion Retail

Contemporary fashion brand, Whistles, utilise retail tension fabric lightboxes with full colour dye sublimation prints to fit in their new stores. W&Co has successfully supplied various Whistles stores with fabric lightboxes including their Flagship store in Mayfair, London; Westfield, White City; Princes Square, Glasgow, The Bull Ring, Birmingham and St. Pancras International train station, London.

Whistles initially contacted W&Co back in 2013 to supply illuminated retail displays to their brand new flagship store on Dover Street in Mayfair, London. Thin Tension Fabric LED light boxes were selected for their slim design and premium build quality to complement the sleek and minimalist decor. The retail tension fabric lightboxes were also chosen for their seamless printed fabric graphics which are stretched across the entire face of the whole light box to create high impact visual effects with edge-to-edge display graphics.

The scope of works for the first retail store was to supply high quality large format display light boxes with a slimline 40mm deep profile. Whistles also wanted bright and even LED illumination for the light box in order to give the best lighting for the dye-sublimation textile print. W&Co completed all the retail tension fabric lightboxes and delivered to site within 3 weeks of the order to ensure that it was in place in good time for the grand opening of the new flagship store.

Following on from that in 2014 Whistles approached W&Co to help fit-out their brand new store in St Pancras International Station in central London. Working closely with Whistles and their store designers, a concise understanding of all the in-store requirements and objectives was established for the new store.

W&Co supplied a number of large format retail tension fabric lightboxes to both the womenswear and menswear departments. One particularly large format light box, situated behind the cash desk, covered a very large area of 4.2 metres x 3 metres.

Upon completion, Whistles’ Store Development & Facilities Coordinator Chloe Hines said, “I just wanted to say a big thank you for the work you have done… everyone in the office is talking about it and lots of people are planning to visit tomorrow for London Fashion Week.”

Most recently W&Co supplied Whistles with their largest light box to date. A 9.3m wide Tension Fabric Light Box to be seated inside the main window of their Westfield, White City store. Whistles’ Creative Projects Manager Alison Fleet said, “Thanks so much for all your help getting this completed, it looks great.”

Since then W&Co has regularly supplied new updated large fabric graphics for these lightboxes to coincide with Whistles’ seasonal line changes.
