Slim Front-Loading Flex Face Signs for Recesses

Front-Loading Flex Face Signs provide a slim, versatile solution for illuminated and non-illuminated commercial signage where space or access around the sign is limited.

The system fixes directly to the wall and can work with zero clearance around the frame. This makes it particularly useful for recessed shop fascias, internal corners, high-street locations and other installations where a conventional flex face system would be difficult to access.

Front access also creates more freedom when positioning signs close to neighbouring walls, architectural features or other signage.

Front Access for Recessed Fascias

Conventional flex face systems normally need enough working space around the frame to access the graphic retaining system.

The Front Loader overcomes this problem by offering two cover-screw positions. For recessed installations, the cover screw can sit at the front of the frame. This allows installers to access the sign face without needing space at the side.

For conventional wall-mounted installations where side access is available, the cover screw can instead sit at the side of the frame.

This flexibility makes Front-Loading Flex Face Signs particularly useful for awkward shopfronts, recessed fascias and other locations where surrounding structures restrict access.

Zero-Clearance & Side-by-Side Signage

The zero-clearance design allows the frame to sit tightly within its surroundings rather than requiring the usual access space around the sign.

This can also allow individual signs to sit directly alongside one another where the project design permits, creating cleaner and more continuous runs of commercial signage.

Applications can include retail parks, builders’ merchants, trade centres, shopping centres and multi-unit commercial buildings where several illuminated signs need to share the same fascia.

Slim 70mm Aluminium Profile

The Front Loader uses an aluminium frame approximately 70mm deep.

This makes it considerably shallower than our conventional Standard Flex Face Signs, which are available in 135mm, 165mm and 196mm profile depths.

The reduced depth creates a cleaner appearance where a traditional illuminated light box may project too far from the building.

Despite its shallow construction, the Front Loader can still accommodate internal LED illumination where the sign size and specification are suitable.

Illuminated or Non-Lit Front-Loading Signs

Front-Loading Flex Face Signs can be supplied as either internally illuminated or non-illuminated systems.

For illuminated applications, W&Co can specify suitable LED modules and branded drivers to provide bright, even illumination across the printed flex face graphic.

The shallow illuminated format is particularly useful where the visual impact of a light box is required but a deeper conventional profile would be unsuitable.

Where internal illumination is not required, the same Front Loader system can also provide a slim non-lit flex face solution.

Direct-to-Wall Installation

The Front Loader is designed as a wall-mounted flex face system and fixes directly to a suitable wall or building surface.

This straightforward construction can reduce the need for additional framing and simplify both production and installation.

It also makes the system well suited to shop fascias, cladding and recessed locations where keeping the overall sign construction shallow is important.

Support for Larger Flex Face Signs

For larger applications, Frame Support pieces can reinforce the Front Loader and provide additional stability.

Where required, the supports should sit at intervals of no more than 1000mm.

This allows the system to accommodate larger bespoke signs while retaining the benefits of the shallow profile and front-access design.

Black Clip Tensioning System

The Front Loader uses the established Black Clip system to tension the flexible graphic around the aluminium frame.

The clips grip the printed flex face material directly. This removes the need for sewn pockets, rods, eyelets, springs or similar fixings.

The system creates an evenly tensioned graphic and also helps simplify installation and future face replacement.

Bespoke Front-Loading Flex Face Signs

W&Co can supply Front-Loading Flex Face Signs to suit the dimensions, artwork and installation requirements of each project.

Aluminium system lengths are available in 5100mm and 6100mm. The system can be supplied in kit form or, for illuminated applications, in built sections where appropriate.

Frames can also be powder coated in a standard RAL colour to complement the building, fascia or surrounding signage.

The tensioned flexible graphic provides a large, seamless area for branding. When the artwork changes in the future, the graphic can be replaced without replacing the complete frame.
